Design: Earnest Studio
The Kink Vase brings a contemporary form to the archetypal flower vase through traditional craftsmanship and playful design language. With its double opening, the Kink Vase adds a sculptural sentiment to the room, even when not in use. The vase’s satin-glazed finish provides a refined, tactile feel that enhances its contemporary design. Available in two sizes, both are perfect for displaying flowers – use the larger Kink as a statement floor piece or sculpture, while the smaller size suits shelves, countertops, and windowsills.
Material
Pigmented porcelain; Unglazed on the outside, glazed on the inside. Small variations in the surface and color of the object are a natural and unique trait of the material.
Earthenware: Liquid earthenware clay is poured into a plaster mold from which the design is molded. The Kink Vase is then polished with a wet sponge and fired at 1000°. After firing, the design is glazed with glossy glaze on the inside and a matt glaze on the outside, the design is then taken to the kiln again, this time at 1100°.

About the designer
Earnest Studio was founded by American-born, Rotterdam-based designer Rachel Griffin. With a background in graphic design, she spent five years producing exhibitions and books before moving to the Netherlands to study at the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2007. She launched her own studio in 2012, with a focus on furniture, lighting and accessories.
