The Ridge Vase Glass presents a new way of displaying flowers through its sculptural expression and artful character when not used. Its sandblasted semi-transparent frosty finish allows the beauty of flowers and their stems to peek through, creating depth and a beautiful interplay. Made from 100% mouthblown glass, the vase is available in clear and full colors mixed into the glass to prevent peeling.
The Ridge Vase offers a fresh approach to flower display with its sculptural expression and artful character, even when not in use. Its refined dent provides added functionality, allowing flowers to stand upright and serving as a subtle handle for easy movement between rooms.
“The idea for the Ridge Vase came while traveling through different cities with a vase in mind, searching for details that had an architectural feel. Upon returning to our studio in
Finland, we began sketching by hand and making mock-ups in paper and ceramics. With its vertical lines and unique shape, inspired by a doorway in Paris, the Ridge Vase presents a new way to place flowers through a modern expression along with a sculptural character when not in use. The Ridge Vase manipulates the oval form through its refined dent while adding the function of a small handle to use when moving the vase from one room to another.” – Kaksikko
Material: Glass version is made from acid-treated mouth-blown glass. Terracotta version is made from terracotta. Off-White and Beige version are made from earthenware. Glazed on the inside and raw on the outside.

About the designer
Kaksikko is a Helsinki-based design studio that specializes in ceramic tableware and wooden furniture, founded by Salla Luhtasela and Wesley Walters. The duo shares an interest in functional, understated forms that highlight each material’s tactile qualities, as well as in the production process itself. They met while studying at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture and have collaborated on a broad range of professional projects under the studio name Kaksikko.
