Project by Florence Knoll, 1954
Consistent with all of her designs, Florence Knoll’s Bench has a spare, geometric profile that reflects the rational design approach Florence learned from her mentor, Mies van der Rohe.
Like so many of her groundbreaking designs that became the gold standard for the industry, her signature bench is characterized by the objective perfectionism of the mid 20th century. Originally designed in the mid-1950s, the bench is the ideal complement to her eponymous lounge collection. Crafted with distinct, individually sewn squares on a chrome base, the bench is available in both small and medium versions, fabric and leather. It is perfect for both formal and casual settings including reception areas, universities, museums and private homes.
